How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

What Happens After We Receive a Notice

  • We acknowledge receipt by email when possible.
  • We may remove or disable access to the material during review.
  • We notify the party who posted or supplied the material, when applicable.
  • We may request more information if a notice is incomplete.

How to File a Counter-Notification

If your content was removed or disabled and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal (full URL).
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or any judicial district in which we may be found if you are outside the United States) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

Process After a Counter-Notification

We forward the counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless we receive notice of a court action, we may restore the material within 10–14 business days, at our discretion.

Repeat-Infringer Policy

When appropriate, we may limit access or terminate use by repeat infringers.

Misrepresentation Warning

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
